據德國RTL電視台報道，法國農民封鎖該國西部街道，要求當局採取措施提高農產品收購價格。

抗議者其中一項要求是希望法國當局同俄羅斯達成取消食品禁運協議。法國前農業、食品、漁業、農村事務及土地整治部部長布魯諾•勒梅爾相信，擴大銷售市場能夠改善法國乳製品及肉類製品生產廠商的狀況，他認為，在這種情況下俄羅斯作為法國的貿易夥伴也可從中獲益。勒梅爾認為，目前的情況是由"其他外交問題上的鬥爭"造成的。
